If you like the cowl, you’ll love the Tool Box Mitts!

SWATCHING- when swatching, use smaller needle. You will have to use your swatch in knitting the cowl if you have yarn with limited yardage.

Tool Box Cowl is the perfect way to experiment with colors. Color theory, color wheel, color rules? Warm? Cool? Or some of each? Choose 6 colors that appeal to you and play with the combinations to create YOUR custom color pallet.

Tool Box Cowl is knit using 52 yards of 6 different colors such as Madelinetosh Unicorn Tails, for a total of 312 yds. When selecting your color palette, take care that colors used next to each other in progression are contrasting.

Modifications:

If working with less yardage (using Knitted Wit Sixlet gradients sets)work 6 rnds of the garter rib in Color A and then work rnd 1, one more time. Then begin the Diamond Tweed pattern. Once you get to the stockinette section work 7 rnds in stockinette in Color B and continued on. Continue working 7 rnds of stockinette in each color since this yarn has less yardage than MadTosh Unicorn Tails do.

If you wish to make the longer infinity cowl length, instructions are included for a longer and wider version using 130 yards each of 6 different colors, 780 yards total.

A lace weight yarn may be used if held double.
