This is a very quick project that can be fun to do with kids. The knitting and decorating is very basic and they can certainly help. Wiggle eyes add to the fun

Use the same pattern and DK weight or very light worsted weight yarn on a standard, mid-gauge or bulky machine. Very light worsted includes things like Caron Simply Soft and Tamm Nordic. On a standard machine use every other needle and the a fairly large stitch size on the dial. On a mid-gauge use about stitch size 5 and every needle. On a bulky, use stitch size 1 and every needle. In all cases the gauge will be about 5 stitches 8 rows per inch but it is not important to match it perfectly. Each finger puppet will be about 3.5” tall and 2.5” in circumference and will fit most teen and adult fingers. Measurement excludes hair. Each puppet takes less than one ounce of yarn in total. Small amounts of yarn in a skin color, 2 clothing colors and a foot color are needed along with a couple of yards of Lion Fun Fur for the hair. There is no need to be realistic with skin and hair colors. Purple hair and turquoise skin would be perfectly fine and lots of fun. To make certain that this pattern truly works for all machines, I made a point of knitting the sample with the heaviest yarn on the standard gauge machine. Using every other needle, it gave no trouble at all. One sample was knitted on each gauge of machine. It is not necessary that the yarns all be identical. Mine are not. Similar is close enough.
