El top Mareira es un top que se teje en una sola pieza de lateral a lateral empezando desde el centro de la axila izquierda. Se hacen unos aumentos para llegar a la parte delantera y unas disminuciones para empezar la axila derecha. La parte trasera es un poco más escotada que el delantero y por último se une todo el panel en redondo con una costura invisible. A continuación se tejen las alzas y por último un refuerzo en las axilas.

  1. Aguja de ganchillo de 3.5 mm o la necesaria para que cuadre tu tejido con la muestra de tensión
  2. 150(200,200,200)(200,250,250)(250,250)gr de algodón PIMA COTTON de Camarose
  3. Tijeras, marcador, aguja lanera y cinta métrica

El Top Mareira está diseñado para tener aprox. 5 cm de holgura positiva, lo que significa que está diseñado para ser 5 cm más grande en circunferencia que la medida de su busto. Las tallas 1 (2,3,4)(5,6,7)(8,9) están diseñadas para ajustarse a una circunferencia de busto de 71-76 (81-86,91.5-96.5,101,5-106,5)(111,5-117,122-127,132-137)(142-147,152-158).
Circunferencia de pecho de la prenda: 80 (90,100,110)(120,130,140)(150,160)

La modelo mide 160cm de altura con un contorno de pecho de 80cm y lleva la talla 1. Si estás entre dos tallas recomiendo escoger la talla más pequeña ya que este punto es bastante elástico.

Mareira is a word in Galician that means that the sea is very rough. When I was a child I often went to see the rocks with my parents and played in the small pools formed between the rocks when the tide went out. There were stars, sea urchins, seashells…. I wanted to represent those memories in this pattern and in the Mareira Cowl, so this little collection is really special to me. I hope you enjoy it.

GAUGE
26 stitches and 20 rows in almond stitch in a 10x10 cm / (4x4in)swatch and after blocking (link to a video about how to make this stitch on page 7). Make a swatch of approx. 15x15cm / (6x6in) to take the measurements in the center stitches.
Videos in this pattern, as well as the original pattern, are in Spanish. Anyway, you can use these videos as a support to make the pattern.

MATERIALS
1- 3.5 mm (US: E-4) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
2- PIMA COTTON from Camarose Yarns. 1 skein has approx. 50g (1.67oz) / 200m (219yd). 100 % cotton. Fingering weight yarn (14 WPI). Color Gylden 3371

The Mareira Top is designed to have approx. 5cm / 2in of positive ease, which means it is designed to be 5cm /2in larger in circumference than your bust measurement. Sizes 1 (2,3,4)(5,6,7)(8,9) are designed to fit a bust circumference of 71- 76(81-86,91.5-96.5,101.5-106.5)(111.5-117,122-127,132-137)(142-147,152-158)

CONSTRUCTION NOTES
The Mareira top is worked in one piece from side to side starting from the center of the left underarm. Increases are made to reach the front and decreases to start the right underarm. The back is a little more open than the front and finally the whole body panel is joined in the round with an invisible seam. Next, the straps are made and finally an underarm reinforcement round.
The model in the photo is 160cm tall with a bust circumference of 80cm / 31.5in and is wearing size 1. If you are in between sizes I recommend choosing the smaller size as this stitch is quite stretchy.
