Top Tucán Manga larga
ENG The Tucán Top is one-size-fits-all, and its measurements correspond to a size M/L. But I’ve also included a chart so you can start it in size XL and continue following the instructions for size M/L.
As you might expect, the latest design I shared with you here this past summer of 2022, the Tucán Top, deserved a winter version. It’s not something I usually do, but this design, with its shape and construction, practically begged for it.
There are hardly any changes from the original Tucán Top pattern, summer version. That design was crocheted with Casasol M-weight cotton (which is equivalent to fingering weight), so to make this new version easier to follow, I decided to crochet it with Italian Merino yarn in fingering weight. The only thing that changes is the hook size used. For the cotton version, I used a 2.5 mm hook, whereas for the merino version, I used a 3.5 mm hook.
The Tucán Top is a simple yet beautiful top-down design, worked from the top down and seamless. It’s a single piece with no seams. To crochet this winter version, I used a single color of fingering-weight merino yarn. In the original summer version, with three-quarter sleeves and made from cotton, I used a total of 5 colors.
