I love this stitch! I call it the Trinity stitch but it goes by other names such as blackberry or popcorn.

I named the hat Tor after the old English word for hill, as they look like little hills!

The pattern uses two balls of Soft Donegal in shade B and one ball in shade A.
If you wanted to use just one shade it would take two balls only to make the hat, without the option for a pompom.
