This is a knit wrap pattern that features a two distinct lace stitches. The center panel is a “true” lace in that there is no “purl back” row. The wide border is knitted onto the wrap making it seamless. The two stitches together enhance each other and make for a very sophisticated and elegant wrap. The wrap is constructed in the true Shetland manner, however, since it’s knitted with fingering weight yarn, it is a bit faster to knit than if it were made with lace weight yarn.

Skill Level: Intermediate + - Advanced (assuming a basic knowledge of lace knitting).

The pattern for both stitches are both charted and written out line by line.

The wrap was expertly pattern tested by Barbara Robertson, who can be contacted at: Barb. Robertson@gmail.com, and who is known on Ravelry as NanaKnits4Us. The yarn used in the sample is Fiesta’s Baby Boom in colorway, Crow Mother.
