This crochet tote bag is relatively quick to make and is a great way to use up some scrap yarns!

In addition to the basic tote pattern, directions are also given for a stronger tote which uses two strands of yarn held together and a 6mm hook, and a variation for rainbow stripes.

The pattern includes full instructions as well as photos of special stitches.

Tote size approx. 13” x 17”

Yarn requirements for a regular tote:

Medium weight yarn “4” (285 yds/4.5 oz 260 m/127.5 g)
Main colour: 1 ball
Contrast colours:

Colour A: approx. 75 yds
Colour B: approx. 50 yds
Colour C: approx. 50 yds
Colour D: approx. 50 yds

Crochet hook: 5mm (H)

Double amounts for the strong tote and use a 6mm crochet hook.
