Hello Knitters!

If you’re wondering what’s happened to Michelle Hunter, don’t panic! She is taking a break this summer to work on her upcoming book with skacel and will be back hosting the MKAL in October!

Until then, I have been entrusted with your knitting needs for skacel’s July KAL!

Some of you may recognize me from The Fiber Factor a couple of years ago. In this KAL, I’ve re-designed my ‘Totem Life Mitts’ from Round 1 of The Fiber Factor to encourage everyone to take a stab at the ‘Knit Your Life’ challenge!

We will be using colorwork to tell the story of your life in at least 4 colors of Hikoo® Simplicity. This yarn is perfect because it’s superwash, comes in a LOT of colors, and is sold in many yarn stores! To help you pick contrasting colors, I’ve included a black and white photo of the shade card so there will be NO surprises!

This is going to be a LOT of fun and chock-full of opportunities to customize, design and get creative. Not to worry, I will be here every step of the way to help advise and guide everyone through this project.

This KAL will be hosted in the skacel Ravelry group, so hop on over and join me there!

• Simplicity by HiKoo®, 50g/117yards each, 55% Merino, 28% Acrylic, 17% Nylon (Polyamide), 4 skeins (1 skein each in 4 colors of high contrast)
NOTE: you can certainly choose to use more than 4 colors!
• US #6 (4mm) needle (either DPN or circular method)
• Stitch Marker
