The Tower Hill shawl is a mosaic stitched shawl, which features an icord edge. The pattern is created by alternating colors and slipping stitches. The slender construction of this shawl is made by slow increases (2 sts increased) per every 10 row repeat of the pattern, and then a (2 st decrease) for the completion of the pattern to make a very elongated triangle. The shawl is bound off using the ‘Kitchner Grafting Method”, to seam together the remaining icord stitches. Tassles (optional), are then added on both the cast on corner and the bind off corner.

NEEDLES:

US 7 / 4.5 mm - 40” / 100 cm circular needles

PLEASE NOTE:I am a combination knitter, meaning I twist my stitches when I purl on WS rows and then untwist them when knitting on RS rows. This makes my gauge exceptionally tight compared to the average knitter, so if you are a loose knitter, you may strongly want to consider going down one or two needle sizes, especially if you are considering adding the two color tassels at the end of your project. Not making this adjustment to your needle size may result in not having enough of the MC to make the tassels after the shawl is complete.
