The Town & Country Market Tote has a sturdy seed stitch bottom and handles with mesh openwork sides to accommodate market goodies. The rectangular base is knit flat, then stitches are picked up around the base and joined, continuing in seed stitch for 2½“. Larger needles are used to work an openwork mesh section for the bag sides. The mesh pattern is an easy 2-stitch, 4-row pattern with all-knit even rows. When the mesh panel is compete, the bag is topped off with a band of seed stitch and strap handles which are knitted directly to the body and finished off with strong 3-needle bind offs. No sewing required!

Use any washable non-stretch worsted weight yarn. Combine colors for stripes or select solid or variegated yarns as desired.
32” circular needles with interchangeable tips are recommended.
Other supplies are 4 stitch markers, 2 stitch holders and tapestry needle to weave in ends.

This tote is quick to knit and makes a nice gift.
