I made Claire Garland’s sweet Little Badger, (Dot Pebbles) and thought how handsome he would look in a Fair Isle cardigan.

This Fair Isle Cardigan is a simple variation of my Isabella Rag Doll Cardigan.

Knitted from fingering weight yarn with 2mm needles, the cardigan is approximately 4.5cm long.
You can also knit the cardigan with thicker yarn, eg Sport, DK or Aran weight - just use larger needles to suit the yarn.

The pattern is for a top-down cardigan, with garter stitch edges.
The sleeves are knitted flat and the underarm seam is stitched.

Tension is not really important for this project.

Requirements:
Yarn: Fingering weight yarn, approximately 50m of MC and scraps of C1 and C2

Needles:
If the cardigan is for Little Badger (as it was for me) use the same size needles that you knitted him with - I used 2mm straight needles.
If the cardigan is for a different purpose, you can use anything between 2mm and 3.25mm with fingering weight yarn.

Stitch Markers: 4 - If you don’t have stitch markers, tie scraps of yarn into small loops .

Stitch holders: 2 - I used safety pins.

Sewing Needle: for sewing up the underarm seams and attaching the button.

One small button to do the cardigan up.
