Traditions Hat has been designed to accompany Folklore Yarns 2023 Advent kit which included a main colour and 24 colours of their “Traditions” Donegal Aran Tweed.

Worked in stranded colourwork with only two colours at a time, the hat with its double thickness keeps out the winter chill.

The pattern has written instructions, with charts for the colourwork. It is knit using a short circular but can be adapted to knit the magic loop method or with dpns.

Finished Measurements: To fit an average adult head circumference 48 cm/19 inches / height 23 cm/ 9 inches

Needles: 4.5 mm (US 7) 40 cm circular needle.
5.5 mm (US 9) 40 cm circular needle & DPN’s or longer cable for crown decreases.

Yarn: Folklore Yarns Traditions - Donegal Yarns Aran Tweed
 Main colour approx 35g ( 62yds/ 56m)

24 contrasting colours approx 2g each (4yds/4m)
The sample hat weighed used 72 g and used approx 34g of MC and 38g of CC.

Gauge: 18 sts x 21 rows per 4 inches using 5.5 mm (US 8) needle in colourwork.

Notions: Beginning of round stitch marker.
Six stitch markers for crown decreases.
