This sock pattern was a long time coming! It was made in collaboration with Ovis et cetera yarn, which allowed me to design socks in any colours under the sun. So, I looked at the cover art of the music I was listening to and both the colours and pattern name came to me: Transcendence.

The socks are knitted toe up, and you achieve your sock size by adjusting needle size and number of rows worked. The heel in the pattern has been modified since the top photo (photo 2 & 3), but I’ve included notes on how to make it with the colourwork across the heel in case you are up for the challenge.

I hope you will enjoy this pattern, and if you need any help or have any suggestions, this topic in my Ravelry group is the best place for support. Happy knitting!

Yarn
Ovis et cetera Kepisch heideschaap sock (80% non-superwash wool, 20% nylon, 425 m / 465 yds, 100 g). mc: 200 m/yds, cc: 160 m/yds, cc 2 & 3: 10 m/yds each.

You can salso use a more typical fingering weight sock yarn like Opal Uni Solid 4ply, West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 ply or Regia 4ply with around 25% nylon with about 200 m / 219 per 50 g.

Needles
Gauge-size needles for stockinette and stranded colourwork, either long circulars for magic loop, 9” circulars or DPNs.

The sample was made using 2.5 mm (US 1 1/2) for stockinette and 2.75 mm (US 2) for stranded colourwork.

Gauge
(35, 34, 33, 32) sts = 10 cm / 4” in stranded colourwork and stockinette stitch.

Sizes in women’s shoe sizes
UK: (4, 5, 6, 7)
US: (6, 7, 8, 9)
Euro: (36-37, 37-38, 38-39, 39-40)
The sample is knit in the 4th size and worn with zero ease.

Sock circumference: (20.6, 21.2, 21.8, 22.5 cm / (8.1, 8.3, 8.6, 8.9)”
Different sizes are achieved with different gauges by using bigger needles for bigger sizes and smaller needles for smaller sizes.
