This is an easy and quick slouchy hat knit using mosaic colorwork. Mosaic is a simple technique where you only use one color each round, perfect for a first colorwork project.

The Inspiration
I designed and knit the first version of this hat for a challenge in Nerd Wars in June 2012. The challenge was to knit something inspired by that month’s transit of Venus, when the planet Venus passed in front of the sun. The square motifs represent the sun and the dot in the middle represents Venus transiting across the sun.
