This ‘personal blanket’ is an easy knit – perfect for travel knitting! Written to be worked up in sport-weight yarn held double for a marled effect, but simple to resize or work at a different gauge. Using aran-weight yarn will give approximately the same gauge as the doubled sport-weight (and would take half the yardage - 1050 yards). You can knit it as a plain rectangle or tilt the rectangular shape in either direction. The striping pattern given is only a suggestion – feel free to stripe or not stripe it however you like. The stitch pattern is easy to memorize and ‘read’ and once you’ve knit a few rounds you won’t need to refer to your pattern until it’s time to cast off. The wrap is knit in the round and after the knitting is done, you will cut it open to make the fringe.

Skills required
Increasing and decreasing if you are working a slanted version
Twisted stitches (just 4 per round)

A note about yarn weight of the yarns used - although Simply Alpaca is listed as aran-weight, most find it knits up more like a sport-weight.

Yardage details
To knit the wrap as shown you will need 1050 yards of Simply Alpaca in Alexis, and 1050 yards of Cascade 220 sport in 4 colors - 300 yards each of the charcoal (4002), dark grey (8400), and light grey 8401), and 150 yards of the natural (8010).
