The Traveling Jacket was inspired by a fleece jacket that I spotted in a shop at the airport on a business trip. I was walking around waiting for my flight to board and trying to boost the steps on my fitness band! It was cute, and price right, but…. I really did not need it.

By the time my flight got delayed a 2nd time, I took that as a sign that I was supposed to buy the jacket! I wore it throughout my trip and on the way home. I loved the cut, and it was easy on and off for security checks. It was comfortable and looked sophisticated.

I measured the jacket, and made a few modifications, like the Jul Leather Latch Closure rather than an attached belt, and a shawl collar rather than a hood. But, all in all, the Traveling Jacket has the same sophisticated look, comfort, and shape.

The hems are folded and sewn for a very finished look. Most of the jacket is stockinette stitch, but the collar features a more textured moss stitch. This pattern is suitable for advanced beginners and intermediate knitters. The Leather Latch Closures and screw in - which means that you can place them and move them for a personalized look. You could also use them on more than 1 garment!
