The Traveller Shawl is a triangular shawl worked from the bottom up in stockinette stitch, with asymmetrically spaced lines running across the front side that give it a simple yet elegant texture.

Since gauge is not important, shawls of different sizes can be knitted using the pattern, and notes are also provided on how to change the spacing of the diagonal lines.

Tools

  • 3.5 mm circular needles (at least 24” long)
  • 3.5 mm cable needle
  • stitch markers (you’ll need as many markers as you want diagonal lines on the shawl)

Techniques

i-cord bind off
stockinette stitch
simple cables

Pattern style

  • the instructions (written, not charted) use abbreviations which are all explained in the pattern
  • notes on how to work without cable needle are included
