Modern and comfortable, this beautiful openwork cowl, inspired by trails and tire treads, will be your new favourite outerwear accessory. Follow your own winding path and blaze your own trail with the Treading Lightly Winter Cowl.

Designed using a simple yarn over stitch pattern this cowl was knit in the round so there is literally no seaming required. This is an easy pattern for the beginner knitter and a great introduction to more open and lacy stitched garments.

A helpful note from our design team about our patterns…

Each TLA Exclusive pattern comes with written instructions on how to knit the pattern stitches for each specific pattern, flat and in the round. At TLA, we strive to help foster competent and confident knitters. We hope that this added detail will inspire one’s imagination and encourage knitters to create their own unique designs as well as increase their stitch library.

Also, to make finding your perfect needle size and yarn as easy as can be, every TLA Exclusive pattern lists the yarn gauge for the yarn used in the instructions (the tension and weight of the yarn itself – usually found on the yarn label) as well as the pattern gauge (the designer’s tension when working that specific knitting pattern). We hope that this will serve as a great reference for knitters and help to ensure the quality of their work, because quality work comes from quality patterns.

Happy Knitting!
