Treasury Hunt is a poncho inspired by the legendary Barbara Walker, whose knitting treasuries collected hundreds of stitch patterns that continue to influence knitters worldwide. This design celebrates her legacy, and honors Local Yarn Store Day at the same time.

The poncho is a circular shape, made in the round from the top down, with no seaming.

Sizes:
Small/Medium (34–40”), Large/XL (41–48”), Plus (49–56”)
Includes guidance for adjusting length.

Yarn:
DK weight for S/M (approx. 5.5 sts/in), worsted for L/XL and Plus (5 sts/in).
Four colors: main, variegated, light, and dark. Yardage varies by size (see full details in pattern). Choose a yarn with drape—merino, silk, alpaca, or cotton blends work beautifully.

Needles:
US 6 (4mm) for S/M; US 7 (4.5mm) for larger sizes, plus one size smaller for cast-on. Circular needles required.
Clues begin April 25, 2026 (Local Yarn Store Day) and continue through July. Most sections are ideal for travel knitting.
