Tregaron is a timeless heirloom blanket perfectly suited to contemporary and traditional tastes. This pattern provides instructions for two blanket sizes; a crib-size baby blanket (36”x36”), knit in soft, lustrous cotton, and an afghan (50”x72”), knit in cozy, lofty wool.

I created Tregaron to be completely reversible; front and back are indistinguishable. I wanted a blanket that would be beautiful no matter which side you happened to see. After all, who wants to spend several dozen hours making a blanket that’s only 50% attractive?

Tregaron is the ideal go-to baby blanket that works just as well for a boy as for a girl, and, knit in machine-washable cotton, isn’t too warm for a summer baby, or for a temperate climate

As an afghan, Tregaron will coordinate well with any décor, and lends itself to easy variations in size. It’s also a fun knit - plenty of knit/purl patterning, some lace work, and even cabling to keep things interesting.

Tregaron requires about 1500-1600 yards Cascade Ultra Pima (which is held double) for the crib blanket, or 2200-2400 yards Cascade Ecological Wool/Eco + (held singly) for the afghan.
