You will love seeing the pattern of wavy lines develop as you knit the Trellis Beanie. The slip-stitch pattern quickly becomes intuitive, so you refer to the instructions less as you go. And it works up fast and cozy using worsted-weight yarn. The stretchy hat will fit older children through adults.

See the companion Trellis Ponytail Hat here.

Gauge: 20 stitches and 24 rows to 4”/ 10 cm in stockinette stitch

Yarn: worsted weight, 70 - 80 grams/ 150 - 180 yards/ 140 - 165 meters

The yarn used for the sample is Speckled Finch Studios Cozy Worsted in “Hygge for the Holidays.” This is a 100% superwash merino wool yarn with 218 yards/ 199 meters per 100 g.

Needles: US 8 and 7 (5.0 and 4.5 mm) or size to obtain gauge plus one size smaller. This hat is worked in the round. The sample was worked on 16”/ 40 cm circular needles and then double-pointed needles when the number of stitches decreased for the crown shaping.

Finished dimensions: Approximately 9”/ 22.5 cm high, 18”/ 45 cm circumference. The hat is stretchy and will fit older children through adults

Skills to have or learn for this hat: knit, purl, slip, k2tog.
