Trellis by the Sea is a cute little cropped sweater and it’s so fun and swingy that I cannot wait to incorporate it into my wardrobe.

Trellis by the Sea was inspired by the beautiful trellises I’ve seen in my neighborhood over the last year. I also found inspiration in all of the parts of the flower, from the petals to the roots.

The Trellis Tee begins with a non-traditional yoke and colorwork broken up with some interesting twisted stitches and is worked from the top down. This piece is designed to have a generous amount of ease so that you can wear it over skirts, dresses and other tops in the spring, transition to wearing it as just a t-shirt for summer and back to wearing it again in the fall with all your favorite layers.

This yoked sweater is knit from the top down in the round. The sweater begins by working the neckband. Then short rows are worked to add height to the back neck. From there, you will work some increases and then begin knitting the colorwork chart. Once you have finished the yoke section, you will separate the sleeves and body. Front and back are joined at the underarms to knit in the round. The body is worked in the round, finished with a bottom hem trim rib. The sleeves stitches that are on hold are then worked in the round to the cuff.
