With a simple St st body, the wide border becomes the collar ~ and allows for wearing the vest open, or belted, or pinned, or whatever you desire. The optional waist shaping gives you exactly the fit you want.

Knit flat to the underarms, then divided to finish the back & fronts separately. The border/collar knit as part of the body, making finishing quick.

The pattern is written and includes charting for the border/collar.

Yarn: Reynolds Whiskey* (sport weight; 100% wool; 195 yds/50g per ball) ~ 4 (5, 5, 6, 6, 7, 8) balls
US 6 (4.0mm) 16 and 29-inch circular needles, or size to obtain gauge

Reynolds has discontinued this yarn. A 100% wool either sport & DK weight (Whiskey was between these two weights), depending on your gauge, are appropriate substitutes.
