Have you ever knit a moebius? Have you even tried out Cat Bordhi’s amazing cast-on? If not here is the perfect opportunity.

A moebius is a mathematical principal that was brought to life in knitting with the creation of the moebius cast-on by Cat Bordhi. The cowl, collar garment created from this cast-on is amazingly graceful. The half twist is built into the cast-on and it adds so much to the finish of the piece.

What I love best about this method is watching your needle cords separate as you knit in both directions from the cast-on and the body of the knitting builds from that center cast-on. The bind-off releases the stitches from the needles until you have this wonderfully shaped piece of knitting in your hands.

The pattern includes link to a video of the cast-on and a picture tutorial of the method.

Materials: 280m of DK weight yarn, sample was knit with Schoppelle Cashmere Zauber, 4.5mm US #7 47 in circs + 1 5.0mm US #8 dpn for the bind-off, 2 special markers for the beginning of the round and the halfway point of the moebius, markers and the regular notions.

Gauge: 17 sts in 4 inches in the lace stitch blocked (approx. 1 pattern repeat)
