I firstly would like to designed this cowl for the brioche knitting beginner to learn how to knit brioche both in round and knit flat in the same project. For the beginner, of course, people would think of something simple, not a lot of pattern….

But I found that it would be more challenge and would be more interesting to have some little nice pattern to work with, not just only the “sl1yo, brk” or “brp, sl1yo”…

So I changed my mind to put on some basic brioche pattern to make it more fun to start with, which could be warm, nice, cozy and beautiful wearing.

For this Cowl, it contains 2 parts of the brioche, start the first part with the brioche in flat as the triangle up to the desire width wrapped the neck, then join it in round to work as cowl until the desire height.

In my project, the triangle part made up to 60 cm/24 inches, then joined in round and knitted around 12.5 cm/5 inches height. If you would need it in bigger size or smaller size, you can do more repeats or less repeats on the pattern as desire…

This project is not required for any special yarn. I use Cotton 4 ply for this project in both colors.

MC - Cotton 4 ply in Grey color (200 yards/180 meters)
CC - Cotton 4 ply in Coral/Red color (180 yards/160 meters)

The suggested needle size is 3.0 mm circular needle, length 60 cm. This size of the needle would allow you to work easily in both part of the project. Anyway you can use the other size/length of the needle to obtain the gauge.
