This is a wonderfully thick and warm scarf, knit up in two-color brioche. It uses is a combination of plain brioche ribbing, crossed brioche stitches, and double knitting. Because of how it is knit, the design requires a circular needle.

The written directions are somewhat long and appear technical, but after several rows it becomes fairly easy to anticipate. Included in the pattern are several characteristics that are constant throughout the entire scarf; after a few repeats, you may not need the instructions at all!
