The Orenburg Down Shawl has been a symbol of warmth, comfort, tenderness, and feminine beauty—a symbol of Russia itself. There are no purl stitches in Orenburg shawls, only knits, k2tog or k3tog, and yarn overs. The shawl is worked in garter stitch lace. For this shawl, I use basic elements: Cat Paw, Mouse print, and Beaded Way for the field part, and Diagonals for the border. The design is called the allover pattern.
