This is a simple hat in tapestry crochet. It uses two strands of sock yard for a lightweight, smooth fabric. I used a self-striping yarn as the accent color in the example project but any two colorways will work.

The hat is designed in one adult size but if you know a little basic multiplication you can change the number of increases for a larger or smaller project.

I have made detailed written instructions which assume that the reader has no knowledge of tapestry crochet. If you are already familiar with this technique you may find it easier to use the chart at the end of the pattern for rows 19 through 34.

This is my first pattern on ravelry; I am not an experienced crochet designer. If you find any mistakes in the pattern please let me know.
