Far easier to make than it looks!

This project is worked in a continuous spiral using multi-tone neutrals with geometric lines and angles. The tapestry technique, with natural undyed wool in dark to light shades creates the look of an authentic woven basket. You may also switch the colors around so that the lightest color creates the radiating lines from the center. Although originally inspired by some of the best-known Native American basket weavers, this afghan would also look great in traditional African colors using red, yellow, and green for the wide bands, and black for the radiating lines from the center. Finished size shown is approx. 54”, but the piece can be worked to whatever size you like, and done in 100% wool as shown, could also be felted and used as a rug! Work just the first few rounds in two flat disks and sew together for a pillow cover.

Colors used in example: Brown Heather, Oatmeal, Natural, Natures Brown.
