This is one of a series of knit and crochet accessories that are designed to celebrate the beautiful colors and interesting patterns of the birds we see in our own gardens, and also birds from all over the world.
This Tribute Shawl is knitted from side to side, increasing on one side during the first half, then decreasing on the same side during the second half, creating a triangle shape.
Slipped stitches create the white spots on the black background and then simple garter and stockinette stitch create the color stripes section in the middle. The color changes during the stripes section are easy to adjust to your own preference, as long as you keep the amount of rows, the knit and purl rows, and the increases and decreases in the pattern that they are written.
