Knit a beanie for the whole village—sizes from child to adult with an option to use 3 colors or 6. So, when you are high in the Jotunheimen mountain range in Western Norway—skiing or hiking—or just dreaming that you are there, this colorwork beanie will keep you warm and bright in that field of snow.

Turtagrø Ski Center is considered one of two birthplaces of mountain sports in Norway, dating from the 1880s.

Adjust the size by changing yarn weight and needle size as indicated. Difficulty level: Advanced.

Needles: 16” (40 cm) circular and dpns as indicated below
Yarn Weight: DK or Worsted as indicated below
6 stitch markers
Yarn needle to weave in ends

CHILD: 3mm/US 2.5 needle, DK yarn, fits head circumference 18-20-½“; gauge 26 sts and 29 rds
YOUTH/ADULT SMALL: 3.25mm/US 3 needle, DK yarn, fits head circumference 19-22-½” circumference: gauge 25 sts and 28 rds
ADULT MED: 3.5mm/US 4 needle, Worsted yarn, fits head circumference 21-½=23-½“; gauge 24 sts and 26 rds
ADULT LARGE: 4mm/ US 6 needle, Worsted yarn, fits head circumference 23-25”; gauge 22 sts and 24 rds
ADULT XL: 4.5mm/US 7 needle, Worsted (or Aran) yarn, fits head circumference 25-27”; gauge 21 sts and 23 rds
