Your favorite triceratops pattern has been created into a cool triceratops hooded blanket! We know everyone loves hooded blankets so we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to make an awesome hooded triceratops blanket.  This is perfect for dinosaur lovers of all ages. Don’t worry it also comes in a girl version so everyone can have one. The pattern includes instructions to make this hooded triceratops blanket in either chunky yarn or worsted weight yarn. It is very detailed and there are pictures throughout to make things easy to understand.  Above all, with these detailed instructions, even those with little crochet experience can find success creating their own masterpiece!

HOODED TRICERATOPS BLANKET PATTERN DETAILS:
-Sizes (not including hood): Baby (follow the small instructions using THIN worsted weight yarn and go down hook size for 1-2yr old), Small Child (about 3-6 yrs 42”x36”),  Medium Child (about 7-12 yrs 54”x48”) & Large Teen/Adult (66”x60”)
-Skills: Single crochet, double crochet, half double crochet, single crochet decrease, back/front loop only, slip stitch, DC3Tog (explained in pattern), magic loop (explained in pattern), basic increasing & basic sewing.

THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
-Hooks: You will need a 4mm (G), 5 mm (H) for ww only, 5.5 mm (I), 6 mm (J), and if you make the chunky blanket you will need a 8 mm (L) hook IF YOUR GAUGE MATCHES MINE!
-Yarn: You are welcome to use any brand of yarn, but it’s helpful to check your gauge before beginning if you don’t want your blanket and hood to turn out overly large (or small!). For a tip on how to save time when checking your gauge, check out my blog post entitled “Becoming a Master Gauge Checker: It’s a stinky job, but somebody’s gotta do it…”

FOR CHUNKY (any category 5/chunky yarn): 

  • Charisma-For the main color you will need 950 yards for the small, 1600 yards for the medium and 2500 yards for the large size. 
  • Charisma Sorbet- For the accent color you will need 190 yards for the small, 218 yards for the medium, and 270 yards for the large.

 FOR WORSTED WEIGHT (any category 4 yarn): 

  • Love This Yarn- For the main color you will need 1375 yards for small, 2300 yards for medium & 3600 yards for large. For the accent color you will need 185 yards for the small, 250 yards for the medium, and 330 yards for the large.

FOR BOTH VERSIONS:

  • Red Heart Soft Yarn (any thin worsted weight/cat. 4 yarn)-You will need small amounts of black and white.
  • Red Heart With Love- Small amount needed for optional bow color

-Polyester Stuffing (very small amount) & tapestry needle with large eye
-Pins are optional for placing pieces before sewing (I highly recommend this!)
