This pattern uses simple lace and cable techniques to form the pattern, which finishes perfectly in this beautiful star flower pattern at the crown.

Links to my YouTube tutorials are included in the pattern for the less straightforward stitches but they are easy to pick up once you’ve attempted it once or twice.

The gague on the patterned knitting is 23sts/32 rows over 10cm/4” Please note I generally knit quite loosely so if you’re a tight knitter you should definitely swatch before beginning.

My xl hat used 56g of yarn, the test knitter for size L used 49.5g
