At 13.5 by 19.5 inches, this versatile crochet towel is a practical way to bring handmade charm to your home, whether you use it as a dish towel, a hand towel, or part of a coordinated set of crochet kitchen or bath accessories.
Pair it with the Trinity Double-Thick Potholder for a matching set, or make several towels in complementary colors for your own home or as thoughtful housewarming gifts.
At the heart of the design is trinity stitch, a wonderfully textured stitch pattern that creates tiny, flower-like clusters across the fabric. Paired with the clean, woven appearance of linen stitch, it creates a balance of rich texture and simple lines, giving this crochet towel a refined look that feels equally at home in a modern kitchen or a welcoming guest bathroom.
How This Towel Is Made
Worked from the bottom up in rows, the Trinity Towel combines bands of trinity stitch with linen stitch for a beautifully textured fabric. The easy-to-remember 8-row repeat uses just single crochet, chains, and trinity stitch clusters (sc3tog), making this a relatively quick, satisfying project.
New to trinity stitch? A stitch chart for the gauge swatch, a one-page Trinity Stitch reference guide, and a Trinity Stitch tutorial video will help you get comfortable with the technique so you can stitch with confidence.
Pattern is written in US crochet terms.

Finished Measurements
13.5 x 19.5 inches (34.5 x 49.5 cm)
Yarn
Medium (CYC #4) Weight Yarn
approximately 380 yds (348 m) / 200 g
The samples shown here were made with Knit Picks Dishie medium (worsted) weight cotton yarn (3.5 oz/190 yds/100 g per ball). The rust sample was made with the colorway #29501 sunbaked, and the cream sample was made with the colorway #N7339 canvas. The project requires 2 balls of this yarn for each towel.
Customization
Pattern includes instructions for adjusting the towel width and length.
Be sure to buy additional yarn if you plan to increase the size of your towel.
Suggested Yarn Substitutes
This pattern is designed for medium-weight cotton yarn. Cotton is the preferred fiber for towels, as it provides a durable fabric suitable for everyday use.
Lighter or heavier weight yarns may be used. A different weight yarn may require a different size hook, as well as more or less yarn than noted. Working with a thinner or thicker yarn may result in different gauge measurements, which will affect the Finished Measurements.
Additional Tools And Materials
Size G/6/4.0mm crochet hook or 1.00mm smaller than gauge hook
Size H/8/5.0mm crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge
Tapestry needle
Scissors
Gauge
14 sts (including chs) and 12 rows = 3 inches (7.55 cm) measured in section worked with larger hook
Though exact gauge is not essential, for best appearance it should be close.
I used an H/8/5.0mm crochet hook for the body of the towel, and a G/6/4.0mm crochet hook for the top and bottom borders. Select the hook size that gives the best appearance for your choice of yarn and your tension.
A significantly different gauge may require more or less yarn than listed.
