On average, one hat uses 75g of yarn, depending on size.

The infant size is for an absolute newborn and will fit an average of 3 months. They grow fast! I have not perfected a baby size yet, but it is coming in an update.

MACHINE:
standard gauge knitting machine

MODEL:
tested on an SK-360

TOOLS NEEDED:
7-1 transfer tool (useful, not necessary)
2x1 transfer tool
ravel cord
weights
scrap yarn (I use 4/8 cotton)
clothes pin

SKILLS
hung hem
using ravel cord
mattress stitch
duplicate stitch (links are in the pattern)

YARN:
I buy yarn from Amtex, on the cone. It is a 3/9 cashmere/silk/merino.
This yarn is used for warmth, comfort and because there is not polymers, making this biodegradable if dropped in the street.
This yarn only comes undyed, so I make a stack, then dye them all in a pot…trying to make sure there are some colour choices for recipients.

OPTIONAL:
Sometimes I wind off of the cone and dye some yarn black so I can then use a punchcard to make a band of pattern inside the hung hem. If the pattern stays inside the hem, there is no worry about floats.
