This cross body bag is created using the tapestry crochet technique in which one or more colors are carried beneath the stitches, creating a woven look to the finished project. The triquetra heart motif is created by changing colors using the tapestry crochet stitch. More information on tapestry crochet can be found at http://www.tapestrycrochet.com/

Due to the way the stitches line up on a diagonal, a special graph paper was created. Right handed and left handed crocheters use different graphs. This pattern includes both right and left hand graphs.

The purse, or bag, part of the pattern is seamless. The entire bag consists of a single spiral. The only seams on the project are located where the strap is connected to the bag.

The example bag was created using crochet thread and a size F hook. However, any yarn or hook combination can be used. A larger hook and yarn will create a larger bag with a looser weave A smaller hook and crochet thread will create a tighter weave, but a smaller bag.
