Excerpt from The Knitter magazine:

This exquisitely constructed, textured cardigan was inspired by men’s knitwear of the 1950s.

“The British television series All Creatures Great and Small is one of my favourite places to ogle well constructed and interesting hand knits,” says the American designer Todd Gocken. “This design was inspired by an interesting green cardigan worn by Peter Davison’s character in the second series. Its use of garter stitch combined with garter ribbing made for a unique and appealing design. Using those design elements, I have created this interpretation of Tristan’s cardigan; transformed and updated for today’s tastes.”

Todd Gocken’s garment is beautifully constructed, with no seams to sew at the end or to rub when being worn. If you aren’t familiar with working with i-cord, it is worth practising on a swatch first, although it is relatively simple.
