These instructions will show you how to make a shawl in the triweave pattern shown in the pictures to the left. A detailed phototutorial is included. The pattern has clickable table of contents and list of figures to help you find exactly what you’re looking for. There are also extra notes on adapting the technique to other shapes.

The pattern is made out of hexagonal motifs, joined into three separate layers. The motifs are attached using JAYG (join-as-you-go). Stitches used are primarily chain and sc, with a special stitch for joining. The crocheting isn’t difficult, but laying out the pattern takes some concentration.

For the shawl, I used plassard gagnante:
954: 1 skein
907: 2 skeins
922: 1 skein
955: 3 skeins
904: 1 skein
927: 2 skeins
