This pattern is for a tropical fish. I made this using only scraps that I had lying around, and it only used around 40g of yarn to complete it. I let the colours change when the yarn ran out and doing this can completely change the look of the fish each time one is made. This pattern is incredibly quick to make and will take less than 2 hours to complete depending on the speed you can crochet at.

I used Knitcraft in the Zone yarn, but any worsted / aran weight yarn will work well to make a fish of a similar size. If you don’t have any of that yarn lying around then any weight yarn will work, you will just need to adjust your hook size. The only difference it will make will be to the size of the fish.

I used 7mm eyes for this project, but you could sew on your own or use different sizes and colours to give different looks.

The fish uses surface crochet to make his side and dorsal fin and so you only need to sew in the ends to make this fish. It is therefore perfect for those people who don’t really like sewing parts on to amigurumi.
