Tropical Sherbet
Summer may be winding down, but vacation season is at its peak. And if you have a pretty new outfit, what’s there to wait for? It’s the perfect time to show it off!
This pattern is for an intermediate knitter, dress is an easy number, but that small shrug will require some time and attention to detail.
The dress is worked flat in stockinet stitch with a few rows of garter stitch at the bottom of the skirt, top of the bodice and edges of the straps. My favourite mock cable to right cinches the waist in.
The shrug is a small wrap-around shrug with I-cord trim that begins as a neckline trim and then extends to become a tie closure. There is a hidden button and loop closure on the wrong side of the shrug to keep the neckline from shifting. The shrug is worked in moss stitch with stockenet ruffled sleeves. Sleeves are of a modified set-in top down construction, gradually knitted into the armhole and worked from the top down.
If you have yarn that you think might work and if you have a doll that might enjoy wearing your finished creation, do give it a try!
