Tröska
Tröska in Swedish means to thresh — to separate the wheat from the chaff. It is the metaphor for standing out from the crowd embodied. It evokes harvest season and that warm feeling you get when you’re wrapped up in the eerie winter wind, elegant, and beautifully textured, with a drape designed to hug the body.
This seamless sweater-shawl is crocheted lengthwise, creating long flowing harvest ridges and soft wheat motifs. The edging and cuffs are worked directly onto the body for a completely seamless finish. The length of the wrap determines the fit, which is determined at the very start of the project.
The pattern is set, but describes how to adapt for other sizes.
The combinationof Upcycled Alpaca Blend and Friends Kid Silk held together creates a heavy but airy and luxurious fabric with excellent warmth and drape. Other yarn combinations may be used if they meet the same gauge and create a fabric you love.
The pattern includes clear written instructions and video tutorials, making it suitable for confident beginners while remaining engaging and meditative for experienced crocheters who enjoy settling into a meditative stitch pattern with some easy-going variation.
Dress it up or down, wrap it many different ways, and let your Tröska Sweater Shawl become a staple in your wardrobe.
