I have been in love with A Riot of Color’s “Octopus’s Garden” since the first time I saw it. It is very aptly named, and brought to mind the ocean. This cowl came about when I picked up “Waterworks” for a different design, but the colorways decided they wanted to play together. With their watery names, it only makes sense that they created a series of waves in the cowl, so I named it after the rest between the peaks, because this cowl is such a restive knit.

There is no purling - only stockinette in the round and flat garter stitch.

Gauge is important for yardage purposes. The sample used all but 5 yards of color B. If you find yourself running out in the final section of B, just knit to the end of an even row, then move on to the final section of A.

For a smaller cowl, complete a section of Color B, then move on to the final section.
