Trust Trans Kids Shawl
This pattern is a special pattern for Pride, aiming to give support to transgender children who have been increasingly targeted by legislation around the United States. The pattern can be worn as a shawl or a scarf. It alternates between stockinette stitch sections and various lace sections. However, this pattern is also written in a way that you can easily make adjustments and choose your own adventure. Just because this pattern is written in a particular way, don’t let that deter you from experimenting. Just as trans kids venture away from the pre-written expectations of them, you can too. The lace sections of this shawl can be easily interchanged. You can choose to keep the variety of lace, stick with just your favorite, or switch it up all together. How to do this is noted in the pattern.
The yarns used are all from Muse2320 Fiber’s #IStandWithKit fundraising fiber collection. Proceeds from the sale of this fiber are donated to an organization seeking to help parents and caregivers of transgender children become their child’s first ally. If you purchase yarn from the fundraising collection, please contact me and I will send you a coupon code for this pattern so you can receive it at no cost.
The pattern makes use of three colors.
Color A uses approximately 100 yards.
Color B uses approximately 200 yards.
Color C uses approximately 300 yards.
Thank you for your support!
