Sock tubes make quick and easy mitts. Add an Afterthought thumb and folded hems (or ribbing) and you’ll have a quick pair of mitts.

Fingerless mitts are great for cold offices, leaving your fingers free for computer work and texting.

Materials:

  • Fingering weight sock tube made on a 48 cylinder CSM for a size S/M or a fingering weight sock tube made on a 54 cylinder CSM for a size L.
  • Needles: US size 1.5, 2 pair or DPNs; US size 3 for bind-off
  • Gauge: 7.5-8 sts. per inch
  • Small amount of fingering weight yarn for contrast color
  • Removable stitch markers

Either a cranked sock tube or a hand knitted sock tube may be used.

Directions in this pattern are for finishing a cranked sock tube. CSM cranking directions are included.

Embroidery embellishments are not included.
