Here in Tofino, or “Tuff City,” as some of the locals call it, gumboots are year-round attire. They are absolutely essential for enjoying walks on the beach and muddy treks on our beautiful trails. However, they aren’t known for being the most comfortable footwear! These cozy, thick, and durable Tuff Boot Socks will keep your feet and legs dry and warm!

This “mostly vanilla” pattern is best for a knitter with some experience making socks and features simple yarn over increases to create the perfect proportional fit - please read it in its entirety to determine where you might adapt it to fit your own proportions better (e.g. add or subtract from increase or decrease rows). For a motivated beginner, the sport weight makes for a relatively quick knit and it’s the perfect project to help you learn a few new skills.
