Gauge is not important. Tulle is not very difficult to work with at all. I tend to pull mine off and slightly stretch it before beginning to work with it. This makes it a bit easier. When crocheting with it, it tends to twist a bit and so it is easier to work with the more you crochet with it.

1 roll of tulle I bought at a craft store, either Joann’s, Hooby Lobby, or Michaels, of 25 yds is enough to complete all three scrubby pads.
