Tunisian Gilded Cowl
The Lacy Shell Stitch used in this pattern was inspired by Pam Guzman. The stitch was used in the skirting portion of the Elisa Sleeveless Top. As soon as I started to crochet this stitch, I knew I was going to convert it into a cowl!
It only takes one skein of Newport Yarn and fibers Historic Hill DK. If your gauge is off, don’t worry you can reduce the number of row repeats to ensure you will have enough yarn to bind off and seam your cowl. If you want your cowl to be larger, you can wet block your project instead of lightly spray blocking like I did. It will wet block larger. However, you can also increase the 6 plus 3 stitch repeat to get a bigger cowl or convert it into a poncho,(based on your gauge swatch), to achieve whatever size rectangle you desire.
It is a beautiful stitch and a lot of fun to crochet!!
