This headband is knit as one strip using a brioche stitch which is then grafted together end to end. The crossover at the crown is made halfway through the strip by working the first half of the stitches while the second half are held on a stitch holder, then working the second half to the same length and crossing these segments over each other. The headband width is 5” and there are sizing options to fit either a women’s medium (length 20” stretched) or large (length 22” stretched) head. The sizing could also easily be modified for a larger or smaller head. Super Bulky wool is used, which gives a gauge of 12 sts x 10 rows = 5” square in brioche stitch. Each headband requires about 50 yards of wool.
