This pattern is my quick-to-knit bulky weight version of the adorable hat that Meilin Lee wears in Pixar’s Turning Red. It is a cozy toque with an extra long and wide brim followed by some simple colourwork in the form of maple leaf motifs (charted).

YARN
• Main Colour (MC): 205m/225 yds of worsted weight yarn, held double
• Alternate Colour (AC): 35m/38 yds of worsted weight yarn, held double
Optional An additional 30m/33 yds of MC and 20m/22 yds was used to make the pompom.

I used worsted weight yarn held double since that was what I had on hand, but half the amount of bulky weight yarn would work perfectly as well.
