The Tweed Mosaic Clutch is a knitting pattern for a simple, easy-to-knit clutch handbag, full of texture and color! The design is worked flat using mosaic knitting, a technique utilizing slipped stitches to create colorful patterns…without the need for stranding.

Once completed, the piece is folded and two small side seams are added to create a rectangular bag. I-cord trim is applied to the crescent shaped flap.

An optional handle or strap may be incorporated by attaching D-rings to the inside top edges of the purse. Simply tuck the D-rings inside when the bag is being used as a clutch!

I highly recommend Knit Picks Wool of the Andes Bulky or Superwash Bulky yarns for this design. The color palettes are extensive, and the quality of the yarn is excellent.

Additional supplies:

  • D-rings, set of 2
  • 1” button

This quick, impressive project would make a great gift!
